MERUM Priorati, as the name suggests, comes from the famous but inhospitable Priorat. The winery is one of the innovations in this rather conventional traditional region. Merum belongs to the Pere Ventura family, which are mainly known for their beautiful Cava's. The Merum Priorati logo consists of two ancient symbols for the earth and the sky. And those are exactly the most important factors that you as a winemaker have to deal with when making wine in rugged Priorat. The soil here consists, to begin with, of schist and slate. Feel free to compare it with other top areas such as the Mosel or the Douro valley. And the landscape is hilly.
