Glenfiddich has introduced Grand Yozakura, the latest release from its ground-breaking Grand Series collection. It is the first single malt Scotch whisky to be finished in rare ex-Awamori casks, and also a limited-edition fusion, amalgamating fine flavours from Scotland and Japan. Grand Yozakura is a 29 year old whisky, which has been matured at the Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown. It is finished in oak casks that previously matured Awamori. Awamori is the oldest distilled alcoholic spirit in Japan, made using long grain indica rice. Tasting notes of the liquid are ripe fruit and caramelised almond on the nose, followed by creamy vanilla toffee, citrus, and green apple on the palate, with an oaky finish.
