The José from Zuccardi has been produced predominantly from Malbec from Altamira and Gualtallary in the Valle de Uco. The wine is aged in 2,500 litre wooden vats rather than smaller barrels, allowing for a present but integrated and elegant ageing. There are herbal notes reminiscent of green tea leaves, spices and some berries. The palate is dense and complex with ripe fruit and spice. The tannins are chalky, reflecting the limestone soils of the Uco Valley. The delicacy of the texture mingles with the power of the aromas.
