Bache-Gabrielsen "American Oak" cognac is the first cognac ever aged in American oak barrels. This innovative cognac is the result of a double maturation: several years of ageing in French oak barrels combined with a minimum of six months in new American oak barrels. The wood is imported from Tennessee and the barrels are made according to criteria established by our Maître de Chai, in partnership with a local cooperage in Cognac. The aromatic strength of the American oak gives this cognac a very distinct character, with delicate aromas of exotic fruits such as coconut and pineapple, which are subtly combined with the vanilla and cocoa notes from the French oak. The final result is a fruity and very gourmet cognac.
